National Advisory Committee for Culture and the Arts. Its purpose is the realization of the Mexican government's cultural politics. Established by presidential decree on 6 December 1988 as a decentralized authority of the Ministry of Education, made up of divisions and resources which were until then alotted to the Ministry's Department of Culture. Non-commercial institution founded in 1971 through an initiative of Mexico's national bank, in order to help preserve, support and disseminate the country's cultural heritage. Activities include: preservation of manor houses from the colonial period, exhibitions, publications, a program supporting folk art, special programs. Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura - INBA

National Institute of the Fine Arts and Literature. Institution founded in 1942 in order to stimulate the scientific, philosophical and artistic production, as well as the promotion of culture and the cultural exchange with the Federal States and regions of Mexico.
