Experiences
Under the titel »Experiences«, Barcelona will be host to the first BARCELONA ART REPORT 2001 triennial from 29 May to mid-October, an initiative of the Ajuntament de Barcelona (Barcelona City Council) which is jointly directed and organised by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).

The first edition 2001 is based on five basic points

A critical look at the phenomenon of globalisation, a new approach to local cultural practice and the channelling of energies and resources.

Encouraging interrelation between creators and the city's different social realities.

A valuation of the working process.

Direct action as a way of generating an ongoing dynamic to stimulate the creation of relations of complicity between artists and social agents, of comparisons and debate about art and society.

Debate as one of the primary bases of Barcelona Art Report.
