Mercaderes No. 156, e/ Obrapía y Lamparilla La Habana Vieja The house was restored with the support of the Ateneo de Caracas and opened in 1993 as an exhibition center for the contemporary art of Venezuela and Latin America in particular. It houses a permanent exhibition on the life and work of Simón Bolívar (born in Caracas in 1783 - died in Santa Marta in 1830), the leader in the struggle for independence against the Spanish colonial power. |
