| Necessity is the mother of invention. Santana ilustrates the Cubans' ability to improvise, which, in »special period during times of peace« is also necessary for survival. This spirit of invention can produce more creative work in everday life than what is produced by many artists. The furniture and utensils which Santana designs and has made are sometimes practical, though usually ironic and even absurd. |
