Signs of Memory: HDB Spaces. 2006
Public art project and installation
Hara, the story-gatherer, interviewed 17 elderly residents of Block 79 on Indus Road, which had been one of the first buildings with inexpensive one-room rental units especially built for low income tenants. In the senior's center, which is also the dining-hall, Hara presents portraits of the interviewees together with short citations from their life stories. This project could not have been realized without the support of Michael Sim, the director of the center for the elderly.
