This exhibition is curated by artist Gabriel Orozco, who is best-known in the international scene. In the press information on the project, Orozco makes mention of his years of cooperation with the invited artists. Four of them come from Mexico, as he himself does; Jimmie Durham lived there for eight years.

Orozco sees his curatorial practice limited to establishing rules of the game. These are: no walls, no pedestals, no vitrines, no video, no photographs...

The game itself is based on the transformation of everyday objects. Orozco justifies his decision for these artists in stating that their work, through the "irony of thinking, the immediate gesture, the fragility of intimacy, and the meticulous violence of transforming the familiar," is relevant for the understanding of a powerful tendency in today's art practice.
