Sound installation
Isidoro Valcárcel Medina plants his language trunk in an empty room in which babblings, Americanisms, archaisms, and words in use, plus transparencies of possible words stemming from a work he did in 1970, expand and intermingle. The roots from which that trunk emerges and the branches in which the Spanish language expands are subsumed in that common trunk in which the echoes and expressions of the men and women who have lived and transformed our tongue for centuries coexist and struggle.
