II International Encounter of Photography

Organized by the National Museum of Photography (FOTOMUSEO), this event presents a large contemporary photography exhibition distributed in 12 exhibition sites. The event will have an important impact in different public spaces of the city and will be accompanied by a theoretical seminar and two publications.

The conceptual thread "Overflowing Objectivity," characters, spaces and objects of desire, evades objective reality -conventional reality- which supports social life, and generates interactions with the field of imagination in different ways until objective reality is surpassed or overflowed.

The exhibition brings together the work of 29 international and 27 local artists linked to the field of photography. The main exhibit of Fotográfica Bogotá 2007, "Shadow Hunters", will feature the works of 16 artists from Spain (the guest of honor). The selection of Spanish curator Rosa Olivares, "Shadow Hunters" will be presented at the Modern Art Museum of Bogotá (MAMBO).

The Theoretical Seminar will gather together 6 international and 3 local artists at the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater on October 8, 9, and 10. In addition, four international artists of the exhibition will host workshops and/or round tables about their work and their creation process in photography, in association with the same number of art colleges in the city.
